After joining LG as a first-round pick in 2003, Park became a free agent after the 2014 season and found a home with KT. 2015 was his debut season with KT, when he actually broke into the first team. Recognized as a big hitter since his days at Seongnam High School, Park never hit double-digit home runs with LG. But after moving to KT in 2015 and taking over the starting second base job, he blossomed, hitting .284 with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs.

Since joining KT, he has played 1066 games and batted .257 with 117 home runs and 467 RBIs. Especially in 2021, when the team won its first overall title, he was nicknamed the “captain of the players” because he was a dugout leader and kept the team together despite a difficult season due to injuries.

Last year, he returned to the captaincy at Lee’s request, and with his cheerful personality, he served as a crutch to keep the team from falling apart amid a string of injuries. Thanks to him, KT regained its strength from the last three games of the first half, and was able to jump into the race for third place.
