LG outfielder Moon Seong-ju, 26, of the Korean baseball organization (KBO), has proven to be one of the team’s key hitters.
Moon started in left field, batting eighth, against Lotte in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on April 24. He went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the team’s 3-1 win.
메이저사이트In his last 10 games, Moon is batting 3-for-7 with 13 RBI in 35 at-bats. He currently ranks third on the team in batting average (3-for-2) behind Hong Chang-ki (3-for-4) and Austin Dean (3-for-6).
In the bottom of the third inning, Moon led off with a walk and was quickly retired on a three-pitch strikeout by Charlie Barnes. But in the bottom of the fourth inning, after Austin Dean led off with a single, Moon lined a two-run single up the middle with the bases loaded.
“I was thinking of a changeup for my first at-bat, but I got a fastball, so it didn’t work out,” Moon said. “When I stood up to bat in the second at-bat, I saw Barnes shaking his head as if he was confident, so I thought I would go for the fastball like I did in the first at-bat, so I aimed for the fastball and got a hit,” she smiled.

LG took the lead on Moon’s RBI double. After giving up a run to Lotte in the top of the seventh inning, they held on for the win.
“It would have been difficult if the game continued with a one-run deficit, but it feels good to get a hit in a scoring opportunity to extend the lead,” Moon said.
LG was able to take advantage of the fact that the game on the 22nd and 23rd was canceled due to rain. On the other hand, there were concerns that the rest might have diminished their game.
“I hadn’t batted outdoors since Saturday (due to rain), so I felt awkward in the outdoor batting practice today,” Moon Sung-ju said. However, she said, “I tried to focus as much as I could, and I tried to keep my batting feel indoors.”
Finally, she thanked the fans for their support. “I’m grateful to the fans who came out today, and it feels good to be able to repay them with a win,” Moon said with a big smile.
