The Dodgers snapped a two-game losing streak with a 10-0 victory over the Miami Marlins on Monday (Aug. 8) at Marlins Park in Miami, Florida.
The Dodgers bats pounded the Miami mound for 16 hits and one home run. Chris Taylor blasted his 15th home run of the season and went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, five RBIs and one run scored. Miguel Rojas and Will Smith also had three-hit games, while Ahmed Rosario and Enrique Hernandez had multi-hit games. Freeman hit his 52nd double of the season, tying him with Johnny Frederick (1929) for the most doubles in Dodger history.
Starter Ryan Peppiott earned his second win of the season with seven innings of one-hit ball, striking out three. The bullpen of Caleb Ferguson (one scoreless inning) and Evan Phillips (one scoreless inning) preserved the win.

The Dodgers got on the board first in the third inning when Miguel Rojas led off with a triple. Mookie Betts was hit by a pitch and Freddie Freeman walked to load the bases, and Will Smith followed with an RBI single.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Dodgers had runners on second and third with one out when Ahmed Rosario singled and Max Muncy walked. Chris Taylor followed with an RBI single. Enrique Hernandez followed with an RBI double to center field.

The Dodgers’ offense continued in the sixth inning. Betts led off with a single and Freeman followed with a double. Freeman’s hit was misplayed by the ball boy, who caught the ball and threw it into the stands, allowing Betts to score on a wild pitch.
With two outs, Smith singled and advanced to second on an error by the third baseman, and Rosario followed with an RBI single. Muncy scored on a wild pitch and Taylor followed with an RBI double to extend the lead to 7-0.
The Dodgers put the game out of reach in the eighth inning with RBI singles by Smith and Muncy, followed by a three-run homer by Taylor. Miami didn’t score a run until the ninth inning.
