Cesar Hernandez Gonzalez (46, Spain), the coach of the Korean women’s volleyball team, watched the game of ‘Volleyball Empress’ Kim Yeon-kyung (35, Heungkuk Life Insurance) in person.

The Korea Volleyball Association said today (8th), “Coach Cesar Gonzalez will hold a New Year’s press conference at 11 am on the 11th and observe the V-League game (Heungkuk Life Insurance – IBK Industrial Bank) to be held at Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon.

12 On the day, I will watch the game at Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul (GS Caltex-KGC Ginseng Corporation) and return to 스포츠토토Turkey.”

Coach Cesar Gonzalez, who also serves as coach of the Turkish women’s volleyball league Vakifbank, was originally scheduled to enter the country on the 13th, hold a press conference and observe the V-League on the 14th, and leave the country on the 15th.

However, as the Turkish national mourning period was declared in the aftermath of the strong earthquake in Turkiye, and the schedule of the Bakifbank game was changed, coach Cesar Gonzalez changed the schedule to return to Korea on the 10th, two days ahead of schedule.

Coach Cesar Gonzalez took over the helm of the national team in October 2021, succeeding former coach Stefano Lavarini, who put Korean women’s volleyball in the semifinals at the Tokyo Olympics.

Key players who led the national team, such as Kim Yeon-kyung (Heungkuk Life Insurance), Yang Hyo-jin (Hyundai E&C), and Kim Su-ji (IBK Industrial Bank), announced their retirement from the national team and led the women’s volleyball team, whose power was greatly weakened.

In last year’s Volleyball Nations League (VNL) and World Championships, led by coach Cesar Gonzalez, Korean women’s volleyball received a record of 12 matches, 1 win and 4 losses, respectively, realizing concerns.

Coach Cesar Gonzalez is expected to review last year’s national team management at this press conference and explain the direction of preparation for this year’s international competition.

Although she has already retired from the national team, on the 11th, a reunion with Kim Yeon-kyung, who collaborated on the legend of the Tokyo Olympics women’s volleyball semifinals as a player and coach, is also expected to take place.

This year, Korean women’s volleyball will be held in VNL from May to July, followed by the world qualifiers for the Paris Olympics in September and the Asian Games in Hangzhou at the end of September.
