On the 26th, Japanese baseball team coach Hideki Kuriyama (61) announced the final list of players to participate in the World Baseball Classic (WBC). Darvish Yu (37, San Diego Padres), Shohei Ohtani (29, LA Angels), Seiya Suzuki (29, Chicago Cubs), Yoshinobu Yamamoto (25, Orix Buffaloes), Munetaka Murakami (23, Yakult), who were first released on the 6th Swallows) and Sasaki Loki (21, Chiba Lotte Marines), in addition to 12 others, 18 more were confirmed.

The roster consisted of 15 pitchers, 3 catchers, 7 infielders and 5 outfielders. Shuto Ukyo (27, Softbank), who has mainly played as an infielder for his team, was classified as an outfielder.

Five major league players were included: Darvish, Ohtani, Suzuki, Yoshida Masataka (29, Boston Red Sox), and Japanese-American Lars Nutba (26, St. Louis Cardinals).

A generational change has taken place, and the face has changed drastically.
